Perioperative nurses are the unsung heroes of the surgical suite. You work tirelessly to ensure the safety and well-being of your patients at all times, whether that be in or outside of the operating room! In honor of the holiday season, we'd like to take this opportunity to highlight some of the many reasons we are thankful for you–the perioperative nurses in our lives!
Reason 1: Your Versatility!
Perioperative nurses are highly skilled professionals who undergo extensive training in all aspects of surgical care and are able to provide expert care in a variety of situations. From managing intraoperative activities to monitoring patient well-being, you play a critical role in ensuring the success of surgical procedures. Your versatile skill sets allow us to breathe easy, knowing that we will be taken care of.
Reason 2: Your Compassion!
To a patient, undergoing a surgical procedure can be a stressful and emotional experience. As a perioperative nurse, you are a constant touch point for patients. You help your patients navigate their fears and uncertainties about surgery by acting as a support system and an educational source, as well as answering questions and advocating for your patients’ needs. We are tremendously grateful to you for going to great lengths to make your patients feel comfortable and supported.
Reason 3: Your Commitment to Excellence!
As a perioperative credentialing body whose mission is to promote professional development that drives patient safety, CCI is well aware of how diligent you are in upholding the highest standards of care. We are impressed and fortunate to see so many perioperative nurses committed to getting certified/recertified and constantly striving to improve their skills and knowledge– for both yourselves and your patients!
Perioperative nurses, we are incredibly grateful to have you in our ORs and in our lives! The contributions you make to your facilities and fellow staff are invaluable, and your dedication to safe practice makes a world of difference to the patients you care for. Thank you for all that you do!
