Big changes are coming to make managing your certification easier, faster, and more intuitive. On May 4, 2026, CCI will launch a brand-new Certification Management System, designed to improve your experience from application through recertification. Here's everything you need to know to prepare.

What The New System Will Do

The new system introduces several enhancements to streamline how you manage your certification:

A redesigned dashboard
Get an at-a-glance view of your certification status and renewal timeline, all in one place.

Continuous testing
Enjoy more flexibility when scheduling your exam with expanded testing options.

Easier retakes
If you need to retake an exam, the process is now more straightforward with simplified scheduling.

Online-only applications
All certification, recertification, and specialty designation applications will now be fully digital.

Better recertification tracking
Monitor your requirements and progress with improved tracking tools.

First-Time Login: What You Need to Do

If you have held a CCI certification at any point, your existing record has already been migrated - no need to create a new account.

To access your account for the first time in the new system:

  1. Go to the login page and select “Forgot Password”
  2. Enter the primary email address associated with your CCI account
  3. Complete the one-time verification sent to your email
  4. Create your new password

After that, you can log in normally using your email and newly created password.

Not sure which email is on file?
Log in to your CCI account before April 29 to confirm your primary email address.

Important: Scheduled System Downtime

To transition to the new platform, the CCI portal will be temporarily unavailable.

During this time, you will not be able to:

  • Submit applications
  • Access your account

Downtime begins: Tuesday, April 29, 2026, at 6:00 PM ET
System returns: Monday, May 4, 2026

Please plan ahead to avoid any disruptions.

Paper Applications Are Being Phased Out

Starting May 4, all applications must be submitted online.

  • Paper applications will no longer be accepted, including CNOR Specialty Designation Applications
  • If you currently have a paper application in progress, submit it by April 29, 2026, otherwise, you will need to resubmit your application digitally after the new system launches.

This new system is built to simplify and modernize how you manage your certification journey - from application to renewal. Taking a few minutes now to prepare will ensure a smooth transition when the system goes live on May 4.

If you haven’t already, confirm your email on file and plan around the upcoming downtime so you’re ready on day one!
